This policy explains how HSK Hero (the "app"), made by Handtechnics ("we", "us"), handles your information. It applies to the app on iPhone and iPad and to this website.
Information we collect
None. The app has no sign-up or login, and it doesn't ask for your name, email address, location, contacts or any other personal details. It doesn't include advertising, analytics or tracking tools, and it doesn't send what you do in the app to us or to anyone else.
Your learning progress
The words you've learned, your scores, streaks, badges and settings are saved only on your device. We can't see them. They may be included in your device's own backups (such as an iCloud or computer backup), which are managed by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. Deleting the app deletes this data.
Purchases and subscriptions
HSK Hero Pro is sold through the App Store as a monthly or yearly subscription, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. Apple processes every payment and every offer code. We don't receive your name, Apple ID or payment details. The app only checks with Apple, on your device, whether Pro is active. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple ID settings.
Reminders
If you turn on daily reminders, the app asks for permission to show notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your device and aren't sent from a server. You can turn them off in the app or in your device's Settings.
Pronunciation audio
The app's recorded audio is built into the app. If a recording isn't available, the app may use your device's built-in text-to-speech, which runs on your device. The app doesn't use your microphone.
Ratings and reviews
The app may occasionally show Apple's standard prompt to rate it. That prompt, and any rating or review you leave, are handled by Apple.
If you email us
If you contact us, for example from the app's feedback button, we'll receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to read and reply to your message. We don't add you to a mailing list and don't share your message with anyone.
Children
HSK Hero is suitable for learners of all ages. Because the app doesn't collect personal information, it doesn't collect any from children. If you're a parent and have questions, please write to us.
This website
This page doesn't use cookies, analytics or tracking. Like any website, our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and the pages visited, for security and to keep the site running.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes how it handles information, we'll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
